Sweet Itch Rug SWEET RELIEF Single Part Fly Mask

Horses that need protection at the throat, neck, ears and face combine a fly mask with our set. It is cut in such a way that it reaches far under the neck piece and protects the base of the neck without gaps. Neck Piece and mask are connected by Velcro and a tie band so that the mask cannot be removed by the horse.

The relaxed fit at the throat is particularly comfortable for the horse. The eye holes are ergonomically cut and do not obstruct the horse. The eye area is protected by a soft and at the same time stable mesh fabric.

The ears are often the most sensitive part of a sweet itch horse's body. That is why they are cut generously, so that air can circulate in them and inflammation is avoided. The fabric here has been processed twice so that we can guarantee 100% dense mosquito protection .

The masks fabric is light as a feather and airy. This makes it comfortable to wear even on the hottest summer days. Once the fabric gets wet, it dries in a flash. In heavy, prolonged rain, the mask can unfortunately start to slip due to the extra weight of the wetness.

Despite its lightness, the fabric is extremely robust. The dense fabric reliably prevents the penetration of black flies. Furthermore, it provides mechanical UV protection in addition to the fur.

The mask is slip-on to minimize gaps for insects. It has a practical closure for easier donning at the neck, which is also connected to the recess for the mane.

But don't worry, the parts are specially designed so that putting them on and taking them off is very smooth. Because it is so quick to put on, it is also suitable for sensitive horses. The openings are loosely cut, and the lightweight material quickly “slips” onto the horse.

Caring for the Mask: How to keep your sweet itch rug looking like new for a long time

Our sweet itch rug is very easy to wash in the washing machine at 40 degrees and dries in no time. In case of heavy soiling due to greasy care products, it is recommended to soak the affected parts with dish soap or bile soap. A quick hand wash at the stable with horse shampoo is also a good idea, especially because the individual parts have little volume.

Please remember to do this at least once a week for hygiene. This will prevent gross contamination and do something good for the sensitive skin of the sweet itch sufferer.

The blanket is repeatedly subjected to extreme stresses when worn, e.g. when the horse scrubs itself or gets caught. No fabric can withstand such extreme stress forever. And it is better that way. It is better for the blanket to tear than for the horse to get badly injured because it got caught.

Don't worry if the blanket is "destroyed" or only gets a small hole. Or if one or the other ribbon or Velcro needs to be replaced.
