The shorn wool is cleaned, carded, spun and woven into a fabric. Compared to lambskin, which is obtained by stripping the skin from the animal, woven fur is more environmentally and animal-friendly. It requires no chemical treatment, grows back every year and produces hardly any waste. The fur is manufactured in Germany.

The pad has a total thickness of around 4.5 cm when uncompressed. Under the saddle, it is naturally compressed a little, leaving about 1.5 cm of padding on each side when riding.
